Spring!

If it were not for the flurries of snow falling outside, mid March should be telling me that Spring is just around the corner.  Spring starts on 21st March.

There are crocus and daffodills growing in my garden - but still the snow flurries keep on falling!

But, lets ignore the snow flurries and concerntrate on the sun shining in the sky!

With Spring just 8 days away maybe its time to start a bit of Spring cleaning on our tech equipment.

  • Wipe a cloth over your PC equipment.
  • Clean the dust and finger marks off your monitor(s) and maybe even your mobile phone.
  • Take a look at your email inbox(s), unsubscribe some of the newsletters that seemed like a good idea at the time, but you never get around to reading.  Get rid of the emails you don't need or at least move them out of your inbox.
  • Empty your Deleted folder and your spam folder.

  • Check your Operating system updates - are they up to date? Are they set to Automatic Update?
  • Check your Anti Virus - is the application up to date are there any newer versions? Are your definitions up to date? Is it testing at a good time or is it sceduled in the middle of the night when the PC is turned off!
  • Check your firewall is up to date.
  • If neither of the last two apply to you, then it's time to get them.  Search for Free Anti Virus and Free Firewall - there are some very good free versions around!
I am off to get my screen cleaner!
